Spiritual Formation
The path to becoming a friar is long and complex, requiring a young aspirant to live several years alternating between prayer, service and study.
During this period, convents take on the most basic needs of novices, facing an economic effort that is not always within their reach: many realities in the poorest parts of the world struggle to find sufficient resources to meet these needs.
Fondazione OFM Fraternitas, in consultation with the Order of Friars Minor, is responsible for identifying these resources and distributing them where they are most needed.
Professional formation
There are several Franciscan entities that offer their friars the opportunity to obtain technical training in various disciplines useful for fostering the development of local communities. I n many cases these are courses in agriculture or handicrafts, enabling friars to intercept the potential of the social context in which they reside and apply themselves for its development by applying techniques and methodologies in step with the times.
Fondazione OFM Fraternitas supports these training initiatives to promote the development and self-sufficiency of small rural communities around the world.
FORMATION PROJECTS
The needs for local formation are very different depending on the country of the world and the initiatives promoted by the Franciscan entity. Some of these have presented precise requests that we submit to you through the following appeals.
