Young Friars Minor
A college that prepares friars
St. Bonaventure University College is an institution specializing in philosophy and religious studies, where young Friars Minor receive a comprehensive formation in order to become friars and priests capable of serving to the best of their ability in the various communities to which they will be called.
The course of study lasts for three years, during which the friars live together on campus.
The formation of friars in Zambia
The young students, from very different African countries-Zambia, Zimbabwe, South Sudan, South Africa, Mozambique, Mauritius, Burundi, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Malawi-at the campus all study together, learning about each other and living in community and fraternity.
There are many vocations in Africa that the Lord gives to the Church, but many young men who wish to become friars come from poor communities and cannot afford the cost of the necessary formation. Our help is essential to enable these young men to complete their formation.
