The entities of Friars Minor in African countries

Women in Zambia, especially in rural areas such as Mwakapandula, face severe difficulties. Extreme poverty, lack of education and teenage pregnancy are widespread, compounded by limited access to educational and health resources. The Friars Minor project aims to improve women’s livelihoods through the provision of vocational training in tailoring for young women and unwed mothers, with the goal of creating employment opportunities useful in achieving economic independence. The training program was conceived thanks to the collaboration of a Canadian fashion designer with years of experience in creating tailoring school programs in Africa: she is responsible for training the local tailors involved as instructors of the training courses. Now it is time to equip the participants with the necessary materials and equipment so that they can put into practice what they have learned.
