Covid Emergency
During the Covid-19 pandemic, the brothers chose to stand by the weakest segments of the population, those who suffered most from the consequences of the health and social crisis. Many families live in conditions of extreme poverty, lacking regular access to clean water and basic sanitation-a reality that has made it nearly impossible to comply with globally recommended daily preventive and hygiene measures.
Added to this was the devastating impact of restrictions and lockdown periods, which prevented many from continuing rural subsistence activities, such as cultivating fields or selling produce at the market, thus depriving them of the only economic resources available. In this context, the friars brought not only basic necessities, such as food and medicine, but also listening, comfort and spiritual support, becoming a point of reference for those who had no other help. Their presence meant concrete solidarity and hope in a time marked by isolation and fear.
